The Courtyard Workshop and Gallery

Simon Thomas Pirie, Liz Tyler, Angela Vincent
The Courtyard Workshop and Gallery is the beautiful new home for Simon Thomas Pirie Furniture. Simon moved from Slepe in early 2007 in order to expand the workshop and develop a permanent display area. Dorset Art Weeks will be the first chance to visit the newly opened gallery space and see current work in progress in the workshops. Work by other talented artists will be on show as well. This year Simon is joined by jeweller Liz Tyler and photographer Angela Vincent.

It’s Simon Thomas Pirie’s 10th anniversary of making exquisite furniture. To celebrate he is producing a limited edition of ‘torii’ side tables, one of his best-loved and most striking designs to date. Also on show this year will be dining tables, cabinets, occasional furniture, as well as many other fine pieces. Simon always welcomes the opportunity to discuss ideas and commissions with prospective clients and looks forward to welcoming visitors.

Angela Vincent http://www.angelavincent.com / 07928 422 655
In between being a commercial photographer and taking professional portraits, Angela finds time to experiment on her personal projects where her creativity becomes unlocked. “Almost all of my work is inspired through the Dorset way of life, from complimenting its natural beauty to exposing its indirect humour!” A unique collection of Angela's work will be on show exclusively for DAW2008.

Liz Tyler http://www.liztyler.com / 01258 820222
Harmonious balance and continuity of line are the essential design elements of Liz Tyler's unique style. Liz has won several designer jewellery awards and is particularly well known for the style of her rings. Strong sculpted lines of continual movement wrap around the finger rising to become the setting for the carefully selected fine diamonds and fabulous coloured gemstones. Liz designs a complete range of distinctive elegant jewellery & welcomes individual commissions.
