Art in May
'Art in May' is exhibiting at St Peters Hall at the top of Gold Hill in Shaftesbury, one of the most beautiful views ion the country over the Blackmore Vale.
This year the following artists are exhibiting:
Kate Toms. Kate's new collection of work is painted in gouache with gold and bronze. The theme is still life with plants, flowers and object d'art.
Pat Chandler works in stone and organic materials, using wire, beads and beach pebbles to decorate her sculptures.
Joanna Sims works predominantly in pastels, her landscapes are based on local down land and the Penwith coastline. Joanna also runs life classes in Shaftesbury.
Sohani Gonzalez works in watercolour and is inspired by light and shade from the Mediterranean or sunny english gardens.
Jennifer Duley is showing abstract paintings in bright coloured mixed media and her black and white portraits.
Lindsay Keir's paintings and prints are based on studies of wild life, using gold and silver leaf in her work. Email http://www.lindsaykeir.co.uk
Ann Barnett is a jewellery designer working in gold and silver, using organic shapes as inspiration. Ann runs jewellery workshops in Shaftesbury, Tisbury and other venues in Dorset. Email http://www.annbarnett.co.uk
Philip Leevers paints figure subjects and landscapes from his local area, using pastels and oils on paper.
