The SKYRM 5
Three painters, a potter and a woodcrafter, otherwise known as 'the Skyrm 5' - Mary George, John Harlow, Linda Mannion, Robert Parker and Jill Preston - are once again showcasing their work in Beaminster. Painter and printmaker Mary George, well-known for her landscape etchings and watercolours of the South West, where she has lived all her life and where she gets her inspiration. Potter John Harlow who makes a wide range of decorative and functional reduction fired stoneware with robust shapes and vibrant glazes. Watercolour painter Linda Mannion who specialises in detailed flower studies as well as landscapes, butterfly studies, miniatures and cards. Woodcrafter Robert Parker who produces a wide range of useful as well as decorative woodware made from beautiful, locally-sourced hardwood timbers. Impressionistic paintings from Jill Preston in watercolour and mixed media with an emphasis on simplicity of line, shape and bold colours. Mary, John, Linda and Jill are members of Mosterton Art Group; Mary, John and Robert are members of Makers,Taunton.
