7 Brian Rice and Jacy Wall
Abstract Painter/ Printmaker; Tapestry Weaver/ Printmaker
Brian Rice's distinguished career as an abstract painter and printmaker spans over 60 years. From the bright colours of his 1960s geometric work, through a more nuanced period influenced by prehistoric archaeology, his current work returns to a vibrant new series of geometric, constructivist inspired images.
Jacy Wall's woven tapestries abound with interventions such as stitching and patching, deconstructing and playing with pattern, structure and surface textures, themes appearing again in her printmaking and, most recently, ceramics.
An opportunity to visit two abstract artists with established reputations in very different media, who live and work alongside each other.
