123 Felice Hodges
American artist, Felice Hodges, came to Dorset eleven years ago, having lived in London since 1967. She has exhibited widely with numerous solo shows since 2000, the next scheduled for October 2021 in Chelsea. Robert Upstone, ex-director of the Tate Modern, described her paintings as “...highly original....intensely beautiful...an expressive approach to painting and perception enriching all who see it”.
Felice works in mixed media on canvas, paper and wood panel. Her paintings show the influence of both the American Abstract Expressionists and twentieth century British painters, particularly the St. Ives group such as Roger Hilton and Peter Lanyon.
