and horticulturalist
Jenny Makepeace
invite you to their inspirational historic house and
garden, which has featured in many publications and on Gardeners’
World.
The house has many examples of John’s acclaimed furniture and a
selection of contemporary artworks by internationally acclaimed
artists.
There are four areas of the garden which include Jenny’s colourful
potager, cleft oak fruit cage, glasshouse and straw bale constructed
retreat. This adjoins John’s magnificent grass gardens, rolling lawns,
sculptures and topiary. Visitors are requested to remove their shoes
when entering the house.
You are welcome to spend time drawing in the grounds, please
bring your own equipment, although we will have pencils and
postcards available. You may bring a picnic - to be eaten outside
only!
Farrs, Whitcombe Road, Beaminster, Dorset DT8 3NB. 10.30am -

Furleigh Estate: Making Dorset
Furleigh Estate
is 85 acres of vineyard, lakes and grazing land
surrounded by woodland. The area is teaming with wildlife: buzzards
fly overhead, deer, pheasants and partridge roam the vineyard,
while heron fish regularly from the lakes to which our resident geese
return each Spring.
We are very pleased to share our wines and our landscape with you.
We have won several major national and international awards for
our wines over the last four years.
