Eeles Pottery- Raku Firing Experience

My Raku Firing Experience Day is a thorough and fun introduction to decorating and firing unique Raku pottery. The art of Raku firing is Japanese style of pottery which originated in the 16th century.
You will select up to three pots to decorate and choose between four different raku techniques; copper fumed raku, naked raku, glazed raku & horse hair raku
You will then have the opportunity to get hands on and fire these expertly thrown pots using the fine art of Raku, choosing between placing them in sawdust or a smoking tin to create your distinct pot.

DIGGING DEVICES - OUR COMMON TOOLS

The Walled Garden, Moreton, Dorchester, Dorset
Drop in between 11am and 4pm and help sculptor Katie Surridge activate sculptural works inspired by quarrying tools and working with tools. Requiring a group of people to activate them, you will need to work together to turn the earth, and plant tiny seeds in pots with these enormous sculptures.

The Walled Garden Moreton Dorchester Dorset
Contemporary willow sculptor Mark Haddon will be making a new sculpture for The Walled Garden over the weekend. Mark has been involved with Land Art since 1992, transforming areas into mystical spaces with site-specific creations. The woven willow and hazel artworks directly engage with the environment as semi-permanent sculptures based on seeds and plant forms.
