271. Mark Swan and Trisha Hayman
WOODWORKER AND WATERCOLOURIST
Two artists, a watercolourist and wood worker, have come together
bringing synergy and an honest approach to some of their collaborative
pieces of art.
Mark combines time honoured western and Japanese joinery to design
attractive unique functional, fitted or free-standing pieces. In his studio
he begins with the local tree and uses hand tools to create furniture to
enhance commercial and private spaces, combining wood with other
natural materials.
Trisha looks to the natural world and paints delicate detailed images,
often fragile and unconsidered. Original paintings of her still life studies
will be for sale along with prints and cards.

downhill past Woodberry Copse turning and turn first right into Colway Rise.

SCREEN PRINTING
Flora Wood creates colourful
contemporary screen prints. She
uses photo and paper cut stencils
to create silhouette portraits and
other works. Melanie Molesworth
and Julia Bird create unique
artwork from pressed seaweeds all
foraged from local beaches in the
West Country.

COLOURFUL, CONTEMPORARY,
MIXED MEDIA PAINTINGS
I work mainly in acrylic and
collage. Drawn to strong colour
combinations and structure, my
work has been described as
confident, colourful and uplifting.
My goal is to produce work which
affects emotion, making people
feel lighter and brighter.

Directions / access: My studio is opposite
the Royal Lion Hotel in Broad Street. You will
need to go through the iron gates on the
right of the large fossil shop and take the
outside staircase to the first floor. 15b is the
second front door on the landing. You will
need to be able to negotiate one flight of
stairs.
