Amanda Wallwork: Mapping the South Dorset Ridgeway

Top Floor Studio, The Old Timberyard, West Bay Road, West Bay, DT6 4EL.

Exhibition showing work inspired by the geology and archaeology of the South Dorset Ridgeway including the originals of a series of commissioned maps exploring the rich landscape heritage of this area.

For the talk on 7 June Amanda will discuss her work for the project - joined by James Sharpe, Manager of the South Dorset Ridgeway Landscape Partnership. Come and find out about the making of the maps and this enigmatic landscape.

International furniture maker John Makepeace and horticulturalist Jenny Makepeace invite you to their inspirational historic house and garden.

The house has many examples of John’s acclaimed furniture and a selection of contemporary artworks by internationally acclaimed artists.

The garden features Jenny’s colourful potager, cleft oak fruit cage, glasshouse and straw bale constructed retreat, alongside John’s magnificent grass gardens, rolling lawns, sculptures and topiary.

You are welcome to spend time drawing in the grounds, and you may bring a picnic - to be eaten outside only!

10.30am - 4.30pm. Entry £5, children free. In aid of Dorset Visual Arts Charity.

AI WEI WEI ‘HUMAN FLOW’ FILM SCREENING: SATURDAY 9 JUNE

Over 65 million people around the world have been forced from their homes to escape famine, climate change and war in the greatest human displacement since World War II. Human Flow, an epic film journey led by the internationally renowned artist Ai Weiwei, gives a powerful visual expression to this massive human migration. The documentary elucidates both the staggering scale of the refugee crisis and its profoundly personal human impact. In collaboration with Sherborne Area refugee support.
